DCM Selected to Automate US Cannabis Company’s Complex Marketing Workflows

BRAMPTON, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DATA Communications Management Corp. (TSX: DCM) (“DCM” or the “Company”), a leading provider of marketing and corporate communications solutions to businesses across North America, is pleased to provide additional details on its previously announced agreement to provide technology services to a new cannabis customer in the United States.

Under this agreement, DCM will provide technology-based marketing support to a leading multi-state operator (MSO) of cannabis grow and retail sites. DCM’s solution will combine its DCMFlex™ workflow management platform and content creation software, which allows users to simplify artwork creation with features such as automated templates and the ability to edit cascading all the illustrations concerned, while guaranteeing a locked conformity. The final artwork is then run through DCMFlex for printing or digital publishing.

Marketing cannabis is particularly complex due to stringent state-level legislation that requires cannabis organizations to comply with different production and packaging requirements in each state. As a result, creative asset management is often complicated and error-prone, with multiple facilities and their respective vendors facing inconsistent branding.

With DCMFlex, combined with our advanced content creation and North American production network, our client will have a single source to create, audit, edit and run digital assets. These include packaging, B2C communications, in-store materials and training materials.

Benefits should include better version control, tighter brand oversight, operational transparency, and greater overall efficiency. Simply managing changes on all assets can consume the resources of full-time graphic designers. With DCMFlex, however, the automation and built-in approvals dramatically increase speed to completion and time to market, while reducing the risk of human error that could result in a product recall resulting from improper packaging.

“The fragmentation of the cannabis market presents significant marketing and production challenges that DCM can help address,” said Shelly Anwyll, Senior Vice President, North America, Emerging Markets. “We were really able to dig deep into our toolbox and build a solution that now touches so many aspects of their business. It’s a true marriage of engineering and manufacturing excellence, a complete design-to-execution solution that will evolve and grow alongside their business. And with DCM’s support as a single fulfillment partner, they’ll have fewer vendors to manage. »
